The city of La Plata is located about 60 km from Buenos Aires. International flights arrive at Ezeiza International Airport Ministro Pistarini (Ezeiza - EZE) or Jorge Newbery Airport (AEP), both located in the city of Buenos Aires. Most international flights arrive at Ezeiza airport, although the flights coming from countries adjacent to Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile and Paraguay may arrive at either airport.

From Jorge Newbery Airport

  • By car: Buenos Aires and La Plata are at an approximate distance of 60 km. The cities are easily connected by La Plata-Buenos Aires Motorway [Autopista La Plata-Buenos Aires]. There are plenty of taxis or remisses (private car service) at the airport.
  • By shuttle minibus: Shuttle buses can be taken at the airport. They have regular services to La Plata, which take an hour to arrive in the city. The final destination is set by the passenger and not only the cost, but also the schedule should be confirmed. Booking your journey 24 hours ahead is highly recommended by the shuttle bus company; you may call their free line (0054) 0810 888 5366. Your call will be taken by an operator who will speak Spanish or English.
  • By coach: First, you need to get to Retiro Coach Station [Terminal de Retiro], by taking a taxi at the airport. Once there, you must purchase your bus ticket at the Costera Metropolitana coach company, specifying that you wish to travel by motorway [La Plata por Autopista]. This company offers services every 15 minutes on weekdays and every 30 minutes at weekends. The journey takes approximately one hour and the final destination is La Plata Coach Station [Terminal de La Plata], located at the intersection of Calle 4 and Calle 42.

From Ezeiza

  • By car: Take AU 1 motorway to Buenos Aires and then take La Plata-Buenos Aires motorway [Autopista La Plata-Buenos Aires]. The journey takes approximately one hour. You can hire a taxi or remisse (personal taxi) at the airport.
